Opus 1 is located in the San Francisco Bay Area with locations in Silicon Valley across Mountain View and Palo Alto, home to several of the largest tech companies and Stanford University. We provide premium facilities with grand pianos for our 40+ faculty and over 1,000 students.

Are music teaching positions full-time or part-time?

Opus 1 only hires full-time teachers. Faculty typically teach 5 days per week, averaging about 6 teaching hours per day, and each teacher has a dedicated teaching room.

Full-time positions include paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, 401(k), professional development opportunities, and free private lesson tuition.

How do I apply for a music teacher position at Opus 1?

Do you require a music degree or specific credentials?

A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in music performance for the instrument taught and/or music pedagogy. Most Opus 1 faculty hold a music degree (BM, MM, DMA) or equivalent training from a recognized conservatory or university. International training is welcome.

During the interview process, candidates will be asked to provide two recorded teaching videos showing full lessons and at least one performance video.
