Private lessons
Membership Tuition
- A $55 non-refundable registration fee is due at initial sign-up. Siblings and returning members receive a $10 discount.
- Tuition is a flat monthly fee. Most months include four or five lessons, with rare three-lesson months when the studio observes major holidays.
- Tuition is due on the first of each month and is billed automatically to Visa or Mastercard.
- A $25 late fee is charged for payment received after the 10th of the month for non auto-pay members.
- A $25 fee is charged for each returned check.
- Membership includes a regular weekly lesson time with your teacher, two yearly recital performance opportunities, and one yearly Honors Recital opportunity based on teacher selection.
- Educational materials, music books, instrument rental, and accessories are additional costs.
- Members may purchase additional exam or recital preparation lessons.

Membership Withdrawal
- Membership may be withdrawn by submitting the online withdrawal form. The form must be received by the 15th of the month to take effect at the end of that month.
- Withdrawal requests may be canceled before they take effect, but the same teacher or time slot cannot be guaranteed.
- Active membership is required for events, exams, and recitals. Registrations are removed from the roster when membership withdrawal takes effect.
- Make-up lesson credits expire 30 days from the withdrawal effective date.
- Membership is not transferable.
- Opus 1 Music Studio does not provide tuition refunds under any circumstances.
- Opus 1 Music Studio may terminate membership, in which case prorated tuition will be refunded.
Example: a withdrawal form received on May 16 is billed for June and takes effect at the end of June.
Attendance
- Students are expected to be punctual to their weekly lessons.
- Students who are late cannot be guaranteed their full lesson time.
- Frequent cancellations may result in transfer to another teacher or membership termination.
Missed Lesson
- No tuition credit or refund is provided for missed lessons.
- A make-up lesson credit is issued when a lesson is canceled at least 24 hours in advance by email, SMS, or online.
- Cancellations made with less than 24-hour notice do not qualify for a make-up lesson credit.
- No more than three make-up lesson credits can be pending at a time per membership.
- Make-up credits may be used online or by email with your teacher or another available teacher.
- When teacher schedules are full, a make-up lesson cannot be guaranteed.
- Make-up lessons cannot be rescheduled. If canceled, another credit is not issued.
Make-up lesson credits expire 30 days after membership ends.
Substitutions
- Teacher or instrument changes require 14-day advance notice before the first of the month.
- If your teacher is unable to teach a lesson, a substitute teacher will be arranged when possible.
- Regular cancellation policy applies to substitute teachers.
- If your teacher becomes unavailable for regular lessons, the studio will help provide a new teacher with a similar teaching style or the opportunity to choose a new teacher.
Summer: June, July, August
- During June, July, and August, members may request a summer hold for up to two months with 14-day notice before the first of the month.
- Lesson time and teacher are reserved by pre-paying tuition for the returning month. The latest resume date is September 1.
- While on summer hold, members may purchase individual lessons when available.
- Limit one hold request per subscription during the summer period.
Care of Students
Opus 1 Music Studio is not responsible for providing before or after class care for students.
Injuries
Participation in musical activities carries ordinary activity risk. By enrolling, students and families agree to release, indemnify, defend, and discharge Opus 1 Music Studio and its officers and staff from liability in the unlikely event of injury during participation in studio activities.
Photo/Video Release
Unless requested in writing, Opus 1 Music Studio may take photographs or videos of students for brochures, websites, posters, advertisements, and other studio promotional materials.
