Young-Rang graduated from Yonsei University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Voice, and then attended the famed San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she received a Master’s Degree in Voice. Young-Rang has both performing and teaching experience in voice, piano, and group classes. She was chosen for the main role of Carmen in the San Francisco Opera Guild’s production of Carmen, and received first place in the Bay Area Opera League's competition. Additionally, she studied under Jane Randolph and worked with Kathy Cathcart and Williene Gunn. She was selected for coveted positions in masterclasses with Cynthia Hoffman and Elena Obraztsova. Young-Rang has frequently performed as a soloist and alongside various musical groups upon invitation in the Bay Area. As a vocal coach teaching students and groups in the Bay Area, she continues her work as the Choir Director at the Berkeley Korean United Methodist Church and the Music Director of the JOY Concert.

Tahv graduated from the Berklee College of Music with specializations in Education and Contemporary Music Theory. He has two decades of music spanning education and performances including ensembles, accompanying, and pit orchestra of musical theater shows. Tahv’s teaching style spans all genres, ages, and interests, however, he has exceptional talent and experience working with students interested in jazz music, including improvisation. Exactly like his specializations, Tahv dual-wields two core beliefs for education. The first creates self-fulfillment and ensures that music, above all, is fun. The other dives deeper and imbues the difference between good musicians and great ones. Combining both at his core teaching philosophy ensures the development of a student’s natural talent while building critical principles of music.

Giselle is a pianist and dedicated educator with over 8 years of teaching experience. She holds an M.M. in Piano Performance from Longy School of Music of Bard College and a B.M. in Piano Performance from Cornell College, graduating Cum Laude with Distinction in Music. Giselle fosters a fun and supportive learning environment, using games, duets, and engaging activities to develop sight reading, ear training, theory, and rhythm. Her nurturing approach has helped students gain confidence early, with some performing in talent shows at just six years old. Many have achieved Merit and Distinction in ABRSM exams. As a performer, she has been a finalist in major piano competitions, including Chopin and New York International, and has played at Columbia University, NYU’s Summer Piano Intensive, and the British Isles Music Festival. She has also performed as a soloist with the Cornell Symphony Orchestra and worked as an accompanist for chamber ensembles, choirs, and theater productions. Giselle is passionate about helping students build confidence and a love for music, creating an environment where they feel inspired to reach their full potential.

Alex is an accomplished pianist with over 15 years of teaching experience, specializing in exam preparation and tailored curriculum design. His teaching style ensures that each student receives personalized attention and guidance tailored to their individual needs and musical aspirations. In the lesson, Alex's approach emphasizes creating a calm and productive learning atmosphere that unifies students' abilities with the requirements of the musical text and performance style. Students engage with level-appropriate repertoire and work towards well-defined, shared musical goals. Alex completed his Bachelor's Degree at San Jose State University under Gwendolyn Mok and Namiq Sultanov and his Master's Degree at the University of Alberta under Jacques Despres. He has also been a young artist in Chamber Music Silicon Valley and a performer in the 2021 SF International Piano Festival. Beyond piano study, Alex is an avid reader of novels and foreign languages, firmly believing in their power to enrich any musical interpretation.

Sylvia is an internationally experienced piano, violin, cello, and music theory teacher. With 30+ years of experience, she has taught, led, and conducted numerous festivals and concerts. Her experience includes private and group lessons, K-12 music classrooms, and ensemble conducting. Her students have excelled in national competitions, college and orchestra auditions, and ABRSM exams with her goal being that students not only attain the highest possible score but also grow their love for music. She also prepares students for Certificate of Merit (CM) exams. Sylvia believes that creating opportunities for students to perform in ensembles and community programs is important for enriching the child's growth and love of music. Chloe is a member of Music Teachers National Association and taught nationally for schools in Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Los Angeles. Chloe is a trained Suzuki and ABRSM teacher. Chloe has performed extensively as a soloist, chamber musician, collaborative pianist, and music director. She received her Master’s Degree in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy from Temple University, where she served as a graduate teaching assistant and was awarded Temple University Symphony Orchestra Soloist Award and Edwin B. Garrigues Scholarship Award. She’s performed with TU Symphony Orchestra as the winner of the 2019 Temple University Symphony Orchestra Soloist Competition.

Effie is a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music where she earned her Master’s degree in Music Composition with a concentration in Music-in-Education. Classically trained as a pianist and a composer with over 20 years of musical experience, she has been teaching piano and music theory to both children and adults at all levels for over 6 years. She frequently collaborates with musicians and performing artists.  Effie is especially skilled at incorporating diverse approaches into every lesson - music theory, ear training, and music history. She works with students on improvisation and song arrangements in order to find joy in learning music.  She values diversity and has a warm and creative teaching style.

Teacher Laura is a dedicated piano instructor and collaborative pianist with extensive experience teaching students of all ages and levels. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that every student has the ability to learn, grow, and enjoy music. She emphasizes strong technical foundations, musical expression, and fostering a lifelong appreciation for music. As a Steinway Education Partner, Laura is committed to high artistic and pedagogical standards, and her students have performed in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and Steinway Hall in New York City. She has served on the piano faculty at institutions including New York University, Third Street Music School, The New York Piano School, and the Vienna Piano Summer School. As a solo artist and collaborative pianist, Teacher Laura performed extensively both nationally and internationally. She also appeared at music festivals worldwide. Born and raised in the Bay Area, Laura is excited to return home and inspire the next generation of young pianists.

Ying holds a master’s degree in classical piano performance from the Aaron Copland School of Music at City University of New York Queens College. Additionally, she has a double major in Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance and Music Education. She holds certifications as a Music Teacher and Performance Arts Teacher in Taiwan. Her musical journey encompasses a wide range of roles, including being a soloist, chamber musician, collaborative pianist, and music educator. Renowned for her flexible and attentive teaching style, Ying understands the importance of adaptability to suit each student’s unique needs. Her persistence, patience, and ability to create a nurturing learning environment have earned her high praise from students and parents alike.

Christine has been an accompanist for various musical performances such as choirs, musical, vocalists, ensembles, and instrumental performers for over 30 years. Since 1993 she has been teaching piano and music theory.During the past few years, Christine and her family stayed in Iraq to help Iraqi and Syrian refugees. She taught Music and Music History to middle and high school students at a private school in Erbil, Iraq.

Aaron began learning piano at age 4, later going on to win numerous world class competitions, as well as giving international performances throughout China, Europe, and the US. As a teacher, he’s received numerous international awards and led his students to  win several International competitions (Steinway Piano Competition, Shandong Piano Competition), and receive the highest scores in the National Music Examination (CMA), and Arts Grade Examination of China. Many of his students have also earned admission into prestigious college and university music programs.  Aaron has over 8 years of teaching experience with students all ages and skill levels using a warm yet demanding approach. He believes in the importance of accommodating individual learning styles, pace, and interests of his students.

Tram started learning piano at the age of 5 and graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Music and a Minor in Music Education. Tram began to teach piano in 2010 and knew how important it is for children to learn music. She encourages her students to learn and appreciate the beauty of music and believes that there is no limit for the children's abilities and imagination. Tram reinforces good techniques and a strong fundamental for her students from the very beginning. Many of her students completed Royal Conservatory of Music exams from beginner to advanced levels with Distinction. She also encourages her students to participate in recitals and competitions such as Quebec Music Competition. Tram has won in competitions (Le Muse in Italy, Bradshaw & Buono International Competition) and participated in several music festivals where she had master classes with world class musicians.

Yuri is a graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where she earned her Master’s degree in music and from Xinghai Conservatory of Music in Guangzhou, China where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in music. She has won numerous awards including the International Piano Competition of Macau and Concerto competition of Xinghai Conservatory of Music. Since beginning piano at the age of six, she has performed in numerous concerts as a soloist and collaborative artist. Yuri has more than seven years of teaching experience for both private lessons and group classes at every level. She is a member of the Chinese Music Teachers Association of Northern California and specialized at helping students prepare for the Certificate of Merit (CM) Exams and Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) Exams. Yuri enjoys sharing her patient and encouraging approach to teaching while maintaining strong standards for lessons while creating a lifelong love of music.

Rebecca started playing piano at age seven and has loved music ever since. She has over five years of teaching experience and especially enjoys working with young and beginner students. Rebecca is known for being patient, encouraging, and making lessons fun while still helping students make real progress. Her teaching focuses on building strong fundamentals, developing good practice habits, and helping students feel confident at the piano. She tailors each lesson to fit the student’s pace and personality, with the goal of helping them enjoy learning and grow at the same time. Alongside teaching, Rebecca has an active performance background. She gave her first solo recital at 15 in Boston and has since performed in the U.S., Europe, and China. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from New York University and a Master’s degree from the Mannes School of Music. Rebecca loves helping students discover their own connection to music and watching them grow both as musicians and individuals.

Irene, a pianist and accompanist, has extensive teaching experience. She has served as a Music Director, Piano Faculty, and Chamber Music Coach at Belvoir Terrace, where she crafted personalized lesson plans and directed chamber music concerts. At Nova Music Center, she specialized as an ABRSM Coach for piano, violin, voice, and theory and also facilitated music education for pre-college students at the University Precollege Program. Additionally, Long has provided collaborative piano support at prestigious festivals and taught a diverse range of students in both one-on-one and group settings. Long’s teaching style emphasizes a personalized approach with interactive, tailored lessons that foster creativity and technical skills, preparing students for competitions and exams in a supportive environment. Her methods are designed to engage students and develop their full potential. An award-winning musician, Long’s performance background includes receiving the Distinction in New Music by National Artistry Honors in 2022, which led to a contemporary music tour. Emily is a dedicated music educator and pianist who holds a Master of Music in Piano Performance. Their mentorship has played a vital role in shaping her teaching approach that is both engaging and effective for students of all levels and ages. Claire is a passionate pianist and dedicated educator. Many of her students have achieved remarkable success, earning opportunities to perform at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. As a committed piano teacher, her aim is to inspire students to cultivate a lifelong and fulfilling relationship with music. Claire believes that the learning process extends beyond mastering music fundamentals; it involves developing the ability to perceive music as a "language," expressing nuanced human emotions uniquely achievable through the piano, and nurturing an aesthetic sensitivity. After completing her studies at National Taiwan Normal University, Claire pursued advanced training in the United States. She studied with Prof. Alexander Shtarkman at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University and earned a Doctoral degree from the University of Maryland under the mentorship of Prof. Larissa Dedova. In addition to her teaching, Claire was an active performer, having given solo recitals and performances in the United States, Taiwan, China, Japan, and Spain. She is also involved in outreach concerts, bringing music to local communities and schools.

Dr. Theodora is a pianist, scholar, and educator with more than 11 years of teaching experience. She holds a Ph.D. in Musicology from Cornell University and has taught students from beginning through advanced levels, including undergraduates. Her students have earned distinctions in ABRSM exams and competitions such as the U.S. Open. She also holds Certificate of Merit credentials. Her teaching focuses on developing and maintaining confidence at the keyboard. She emphasizes healthy, efficient technique, body awareness, and injury-preventive habits, helping students build strong foundations for well-rounded musicianship and progress. From the first lesson, she encourages students to observe and understand what they are doing at the piano rather than simply imitate instructions, helping them tackle any technical challenge and become imaginative musicians equipped to explore their highest passions, interests, and goals. In addition to studio teaching, Dr. Theodora has taught writing and music history at universities, from early repertoires to pop. She is actively involved in alternative performance spaces such as Groupmuse and believes that sustained musical study—at any level—is a meaningful investment in intellectual growth, emotional intelligence, and cultural awareness. Dr. Lina is a highly experienced concert pianist and chamber musician from South Korea. She holds a B.M. degree in piano performance from Hanyang University in Seoul, Korea, as well as a Master Solist degree from Hochschule für Musik in Detmold, Germany. Dr. Lina also completed a Master Kammermusik in Chamber Music from Hochschule für Musik in Detmold, Germany, and a Künstlerisch-weiterbildendes Studium from Hanns Eisler Berlin in Germany. She then earned a Konzertexamen degree (equiv. D.M.A.) in piano performance from Hogeschool Zuyd in Maastricht, Netherlands, with the highest honors. She has won several national and international competitions, such as the International Music Award Maastricht in the Netherlands and has performed at prestigious venues across Asia, Europe, and the USA. She has also been invited to perform at renowned international music festivals, including the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival in Lübeck, Germany, and the International Art-Festival Coup in Maastricht, Netherlands. With over 25 years of experience, she is a skilled music educator with a background in teaching piano. She has served as an adjunct faculty member at the Department of Piano at Hanyang University in Seoul, South Korea, and has also taught at several other music universities and music schools in Korea. As a music educator, she is passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience with her students to help them reach their full potential as musicians. She is patient, encouraging, and dedicated to helping each student succeed.

As a certificated university lecturer, Minghua has taught piano performance, piano pedagogy, music education, piano literature, and art at Universities for over 10 years. During these years, she helped hundreds of students get accepted in the most privileged universities and achieve their musical education dreams. Minghua is not only a piano competition judge but has also helped many students win world class piano competitions. Minghua teaches all ages and all levels, including private lessons and group piano classes.

Marco teaches all ages and all levels. He began his musical studies at the age of six and moved to Portugal with his family at the age of twelve. There he studied in several conservatories and received two bachelors of Music - Piano Performance and Music Theory. He was Valedictorian of the school for both degrees and was rewarded twice with prize “Ensino Magazine” for his high grades. Before coming to the United States, Marco was teaching piano at Conservatorio Regional de Castelo Branco, Conservatorio Regional da Covilha and also teaching musical analysis at Castelo Branco University (ESART). Marco received his Master in Piano Performance from Arizona State University in the class of the great pianist and Regent Professor of Piano Dr. Caio Pagano. He has over 10 years of teaching experience and prepares students for ABRSM exam.

With over 25 years of experience, Julia has taught students of all ages and all levels. Her students have excelled in multiple exams including CM as well as competitions including U.S. Open Music Competition and MTAC Solo. Her mission is to help and encourage students to develop their musical abilities and to enrich their lives through enjoyment of classical piano music. As a professionally trained pianist, Julia has performed in many concerts and chamber music as a soloist, a collaborative pianist, and an accompanist. She won the SJSU Concerto Competition, performed with the SJSU Symphony Orchestra, and was the 1st place award recipient in the San Jose Music Study Club Competition.

Dr. Akira Kaku has 11 years of teaching experience, having notably worked on the faculty for the University of Michigan Piano Pedagogy Laboratory Program, as well as the Indiana University Jacobs Academy Young Pianists Program. He specializes in helping students build awareness of how their body interacts with the keyboard, establishing a connection between physical motion and musicality. With this goal in mind, he has helped many students at all levels develop healthy practicing and playing habits, enabling them to successfully explore their natural talents. Dr. Kaku is also an experienced performer. Throughout his career, he has competed at the international level and earned prizes throughout North America and Japan, including the Kawai Music Competition: Piano Solo S-course.

Eliza has a broad teaching experience and performed as a solo concert pianist, chamber musician and accompanist in Taiwan, UK, Germany and US. Her music education background and related trainings in children psychology helps her to be a unique and better than just a piano teacher. She has over 15 years of private lesson experience and 4 years of public school experience. She specialized in preparing student for ABRSM exam in piano, theory and aural training. Her teaching style focuses on discovering talent, preparing for exam/ recitals and music for pleasure.

Sici is the co-founder of Opus 1 Music Studio. She teaches young beginners and Music For Young Children Group Class. She is experienced in ABRSM exam preparation for all levels.

Kashmira began studying the violin at age four and was a member of the Hawaii Youth Symphony while growing up. She obtained her B.M. in Violin Performance from the University of Colorado–Boulder under Charles Wetherbee. At CU, Kashmira participated in a Music and Performing Arts summer program in Florence, Italy where she studied with violinist Alberto Bologni, renowned performer, teacher and co-founder of the Florentia Consort Associazione Culturale. She went on to study with Katherine McLin at Arizona State University, obtaining an M.M in Violin Performance and Pedagogy. Kashmira is experienced in teaching violin to students of all ages and skill levels, from beginner to advanced. She approaches each lesson as a collaboration between teacher and student that is tailored to the student’s ability, learning style, and interests. Kashmira strives to incorporate music theory, music history, and ear training into playing the instrument. Luis has been a valued faculty member at Opus 1 Music Studio since 2019. With over ten years of teaching experience, he works with students of all levels—beginners, intermediate, and advanced. He specializes in preparing students for auditions, ABRSM exams, and refining technique for those pursuing higher-level playing. Many of his students have gone on to join prestigious youth orchestras, including The Golden State Youth Symphony and California Youth Symphony. Luis emphasizes beautiful tone production and musical expression in his teaching, helping students develop both technical precision and artistry on the violin. His distinguished performance career includes awards such as First Prize in the USM Chamber Music Competition and winner of the Northern Lights Music Festival Concerto Competition. He has served as concertmaster of the San Pedro Sula Chamber Orchestra and assistant concertmaster of the Gulf Coast Symphony. She teaches voice with a warm, encouraging style that helps students build strong technique, stage confidence, and a love for singing. Her experience spans musical theatre, classical repertoire, and group voice classes, making her a versatile and engaging teacher for all ages. At Harvard, Caitlin studied voice with leading faculty and performed in both choral and staged productions, including touring internationally with the Harvard University Choir and Ferris Choral Fellows. She has earned top awards at NATS competitions and performed principal roles in musical theatre and opera productions. Caitlin’s teaching focuses on healthy vocal technique, musical storytelling, and building confidence through consistent practice and creative exploration. She supports each student’s individual goals—whether preparing for performances, auditions, or just enjoying the process of learning to sing.

Sasha grew up singing and has studied voice for more than 15 years. They started out as a singer in the Grammy Award-Winning Los Angeles Children's Chorus, then continued on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Music with a concentration in Vocal Performance from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. They have sung with notable ensembles such as the LA Philharmonic Orchestra and the LA Master Chorale and in some notable halls such as Carnegie Hall, Sydney Opera House, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Symphony Hall, and Mechanics Hall. Sasha is passionate about empowering singers to discover their own unique voice and prioritizes healthy and joyful singing. Their teaching style is fun and student-centered, focusing on building tools and techniques in order to create an easier and more enjoyable singing experience. By spending time getting to know your specific musical and vocal goals, Sasha will work with you to improve technique, musical literacy, and vocal ease. Sasha also believes in catering lessons to each student’s needs and promises to provide a safe and supportive learning environment for students of all ages, abilities, backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, and neurotypes.

She is a lyric soprano, actor, and songwriter with a versatile voice spanning musical theatre, classical, jazz, and contemporary styles. She has taught masterclasses and workshops in both Southern California and New York, and has attended programs such as Tanglewood Music Institute, Oberlin Conservatory, Operafestival di Roma, Operaworks, and SongFest. John’s extensive background in guitar instruction includes 30+ years of both private and group guitar teaching for students of all ages, preschool through adulthood and in all styles including rock, blues, pop, country, folk, jazz, and classical. In addition to John’s teaching experience, he is also a well-known performer and recording artist, having won two consecutive first-place awards in the Portland Music Company Guitar Competition and released more than a dozen professionally recorded albums available across iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, and other digital streaming platforms. John believes in the importance of catering specifically to each student’s individual interests and learning goals. Within his available skills to share with students, he prides himself on the ability to offer a structured curriculum that can include reading chord charts, traditional staff, and tablature, and the opportunity to learn to play by ear. Lessons include playing both solid rhythm guitar and melodic lead guitar while exploring a discussion of the creative process such as basic songwriting with melodic and rhythmic accompaniment. Joseph-Napoleon is a classical guitarist who has been mentored by some of the world's finest classical guitarists. His instructors include GRAMMY award-winning artist Jason Vieaux, internationally acclaimed concert artist Marcin Dylla, and the distinguished faculty at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. At the Conservatory, he studied under the guidance of David Tanenbaum, the Chair of the Classical Guitar department, from which he graduated and earned his degree. As a performer, he is the 1st prize winner of the Sierra Nevada National Classical Guitar Competition. He has performed numerous concerts as a soloist and a collaborative musician in festivals and various venues/halls. Joseph-Napoleon is also a strong believer in music education, as he himself has been directly impacted by it and is a product of passionate music educators. With multiple years of teaching experience catering to all ages and skill levels, he ardently imparts his knowledge and expertise to students, guiding them toward unlocking their complete musical potential.

Teacher Minji is a dedicated cellist and music educator with over eight years of teaching experience, working with students of all ages—from young beginners to adult and senior learners. She has experience guiding students at all levels and is passionate about helping each individual progress at their own pace. She received her early musical training at Yewon School and Seoul Arts High School in Korea, and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Cello Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. In her teaching, Teacher Minji emphasizes building a strong technical foundation while nurturing musical expression. She strives to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel encouraged, stay motivated, and develop a lasting appreciation for music.

Over the past 30 years, Teacher Michael has taught cellists of all ages, including at the Aspen Music Festival Outreach Program, the String Academy of Wisconsin, the Thurnauer School of Music in New Jersey, and at his Fitzpatrick Cello Academy in Los Angeles and Kentucky. He created the Outreach for Strings Program at the Northwestern University Bienen School of Music. Teacher Michael’s foundational studies were with renowned pedagogue Rodney Farrar, who pioneered Suzuki cello teaching from its beginning in the United States. Teacher Michael transmits the core principles of a love of music, learning by ear, and developing a strong technical foundation through repertoire, exercises and drills that develop student's reflexes and coordination. His teaching style is enthusiastic and positive, and in the lesson he is attentive to each student’s level and their technical and musical needs. He guides students to play with a beautiful tone, precise intonation, a feeling of joy, and to develop and express their own unique musical voice. He has taught Jacob Szekely, the world’s foremost jazz cellist, and Devon Breton-Pokadzi, Principal Cellist of the Yale Symphony Orchestra for its performance at Carnegie Hall. Teacher Michael is the recipient of The Prince Charles Award for Musical Excellence conferred by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales - now King Charles III. He is a renowned cello soloist who has performed around the world, including at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Hollywood Bowl, the United Nations, with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, and the United States Capitol West Lawn. He enjoys playing in many musical genres including classical, folk, rock, world music, and contemporary.

A graduate of the Juilliard School, and native of Baltimore, Maryland, cellist Elliot enjoys an active career as a chamber musician, soloist and accomplished Cello teacher. Eliot’s concert appearances include performances as soloist with world class orchestras. Over the span of over 9 years, Elliot has taught numerous students of all ages and levels. His teaching approach is built on 3 main axis: Building proper and effective practice routines, developing strong technical foundations and physical habits, and developing expression and musicality.
